Who is not suitable for a massage?

  • Individuals with significant fever.

  • Those with contagious diseases such as the cold or the flu.

  • Anyone who has had recent operations or acute injuries.

  • Individuals with severe, unstable hypertension.

  • People with local contagious or irritable skin conditions.

  • Clients with fragility issues, skin conditions, or problems with blood circulation, including:

    • Blood clotting disorders.

    • Increased risk of injury, such as bone fractures.

    • Nerve injury.

    • Older age.

    • Recent surgery or chemotherapy.

    • Wounds or existing skin conditions.

    • Hernia.

  • If you have a contagious disease, fever, or have been vomiting, we strongly advise against having massage treatments. You should also consult your doctor before considering a massage, as it could potentially worsen your symptoms and put your therapist at risk.

Can I have a massage if I am pregnant?

  • Massage during pregnancy is often safe, but it is advised to avoid Thai massage during the initial weeks and the weeks leading up to birth.

  • Always consult with your doctor before booking a massage.

  • Avoid lying on your back or stomach during the massage. Opt for a lighter touch, rather than deep tissue massage.

  • Some spas, including ours, recommend against treatments during the first trimester and advise caution beyond 32 weeks of pregnancy.
